The Americans for Financial Reform Conference on Executive Pay and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act will discuss this afternoon a provision that would disclose the CEO-to-worker pay ratio to investors and the public for the first time. The AFL-CIO is hosting the conference.

NLRB Rule Changes Ensure Workers’ Right to Vote

The recently approved resolution by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to update the union election process stands to enhance greatly the freedom of workers to exercise their rights. The current system allows management to impede union elections almost indefinitely with bureaucratic loopholes that promote excessive delays and endless appeals.

Foxwoods Victory: Members Approve First Contract

After close to a year of negotiations between Local 30 and Foxwoods management for a contract, a deal was finally reached in October for the 280 recently organized members in the engineering department. Business Manager Jack Ahern called this a huge victory for not only the members, but Local 30 as well.
